How the ‘leader of the masses’ notion has disillusioned India

demonatisation

Today the scenario of the Indian Politics is much like the Bollywood, cater the audience what it

asks for, then the TRP targets will roll over and crush the ethics and the policy for good.

The speeches and the policies are not to develop nation but to appease the masses. Before every demand, you make no matter how vague or illegal, make sure you have a mob behind you

shouting in unison, your Neta will come to appease you.
Quoting recent example of Padmavati where we as citizens were shocked as death threats,

threats to chop nose of Deepika Padukone, and threats to burn down theatres were openly given, rather than prosecuting these anti-social elements, our politicians were rather adding fuel to fire. Forget the difference between ruling government or the opposition, all finally seem to have a mutual consensus to safeguard the so-called interests of the masses. I really don’t

remember when was the last time such easy consensus for the good happened.
WHY NO MANN KI BAAT ON THIS SIGHT?
In this safeguarding of what our leaders claim to be interests and sentiments, neglected, was
the bible of laws, called the constitution which promised the freedom of speech, right to
live with dignity and the right to equality, just felt like the old days, the days of 1975
which were the days of ‘Emergency’ though, a “declared” one.
So in this post-truth era, what interests you more, theatrics or facts? Let us see, remember
when all of us were out of cash post demonetization and were listening to excessive money
laundering and deaths of people waiting in long queues, at that point in time the entire nation
was expecting the prime minister to address the nation to share the logic and rationale behind
the heart-wrenching step irrespective of it being good or bad.

The next day the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi delivers a speech, in which rather seems a mono-act instead of sharing some facts, intricacies, possible consequences regarding the

 policy.
The Prime Minister rather says this
“Mere desh vaasiyon……..maine ghar………………………parivaar………………..sab
kuchh….Desh ke liye chhoda hai
 (continued by heartfelt applause)
But what about policies? What about political narratives? Why are there no political narratives to hate crimes? Why are there no political narratives to the Padmavati row? WOULD INDIA NOW MERELY THRIVE ON EMOTIONS STIRRED BY THE LEADERS OF MASSES? ARE EMOTIONS THE ONLY POLICY?

The applause after the above dialogue dominated the cries of the already distressed farmers and the shattering of the informal economy. No one after this dared to question the policy because if questioned, direct links of this policy were made to the jawans defending at the

border, or of the person question being an anti-national.

Conclusion: In India its the mob that has given politicians the leverage of fondling with their emotions and just being successful by appeasing the years of the masses. policy, caliber, capability, and credentials are redundant. Now this leverage extended by Indians to the ‘leaders of masses’ is what has held back the real development as per the potentials India holds.
