An open letter to bhakts, a few simple answers sought!

Author: Divesh Gill

I have a lot to say to the followers of the right wing or our honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi but before that I would also clarify that I do not belong to any political party and I only intend to seek some answers in the humble capacity of a citizen of India (as much as the bhakts are).

I have a problem with how your freedom of speech is freedom of speech and my dissent is seditious or it rather brings me to a validation test of nationalism.

I would go one by one stating one question at a time and I dare any of you to give me a logical and reasonable answer to them.

Who decides my nationalism?

How conveniently you have made a patter where in anyone who falls in line with the circus run by the Prime Minister is a nationalist and how anyone who does not is an anti-national.

I have a simple question to ask, who decides who is nationalist and who is not? Why does your comprehension of nationalism see Modi Ji as a synonym to the nation? Is our honorable Prime Minister India and is India the Prime Minister?

Why does your comprehension of nationalism see Modi Ji as a synonym to the nation?

Is our honorable Prime Minister India and is India the Prime Minister?

Why does your comprehension of nationalism see Modi Ji as a synonym to the nation? Is our honorable Prime Minister India and is India the Prime Minister?

If I have questions to ask to a Prime Minister who has committed accountability to the nation, do I become an anti-national?

How Gauri Lankesh was called a “Kutiya” after she was shot dead shows how you are confusing the nation with the Prime Minister and the BJP. Who are you to certify people? Who gave you that right?

You have freedom of speech, Don’t we have it?

When you go abusing people on the social media and trolling people with all sorts of derogatory words you easily get away calling it freedom of speech. When we raise our voice or express dissent then how come you forget about the very abstract of freedom of speech?

When we raise our voice or express dissent then how come you forget about the very abstract of freedom of speech?

We do not even stoop as low as you do to abuse someone and forget all manners yet our freedom of speech makes us harmful to the nation while your words are so revolutionary, I mean can I clap for you?

I do not have a problem that you believe in our Prime Minister. He is my Prime Minister too and everyone is entitled to an opinion and the right to choose.

Just like you are entitled to an opinion which favors the Prime Minister I am entitled to an inquisitive opinion. Does this mean you would abuse me, burn my house, shot me down, troll me on the social media?

If the Prime Minister follows you on Twitter why don’t you exhibit some responsibility? I don’t abuse you or troll you for supporting the Prime Minister, then who gives you the authorization to do that to me when I rather question the government?

Who decides who stays in India and who is sent to Pakistan?

I am not a Muslim but I’ll still ask this. Whoever gave you the right to send someone to Pakistan or to decide who stays in India and who does not?

Every Indian is as much entitled to every right to dwell in India as you then why do you assume an arrogance over the constitution and make a fool out of yourselves?

Am I wrong? Or maybe you can show me your Aadhar Card which perhaps states some special powers to your name in deciding who stays in India and who does not?

Show it to me?

I expect answers to these questions, I expect reasonable answers to these questions and I would once again reiterate two things, My nationalism does not need a saffron certification and I do not hate you or intend to abuse you because you are of a different opinion.
